Unforgettable Voyage:The Search

ChChapter 1e
Taker sat there still holding the pillow, not noticing Kane was there, his eyes closed. He opened them, seeing Kane, knowing he had heard every word. Kane didn't say anything. What could he say. He knew Taker would try to find Katie.
"What about your marriage?"
"It's over! She can have the divorce. I had made up my mind a long time ago."
"I know you're going to search for Katie, but where are you going to start?"
Taker got up and dressed, not knowing where he would start. While packing he stopped and read the note again. Then he folded it and put it in his costume bag. They left the boat, on their way to the airport and their next show.
After landing in Chicago, Taker placed a call to his lawyer in Houston. He informed him to call his wife's lawyer telling them to go ahead with the divorce and to represent him as he would not contest it.
"Have you thought how you're going to do it? Do you know where she lives?"
Taker had been so intent on getting to know her he didn't remember where she said she was from. "All I remember is that she works for a law firm." "You do realize that's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. You don't even know her last name, do you?"
Taker shook his head.
Kane just looked at him.
"You don't know her full name. You have no picture to go by. All you know is that she works for a law firm. All I can say is good luck."
Taker sat on a bench, knowing the odds were next to hopeless at finding her. He ran his hands through his hair, realizing it would take a miracle. But he wasn't going to quit. He sat back and closed his eyes, her face as clear as if she were there.
There was someone who worked for the company who was an artist. Taker gave Katie's description, going into great detail. When the man had finished, there was Katie's picture.
His mind went back to their first meeting. A smile came across his face of the first couple of days. How she finally attended a match. Their time together for the next couple of days. Then their last night on board. He would never forget that night.
"I will find you," he said to himself.

Chapter Two
Katie flew back to New York, thinking of her week long cruise, tears coming to her eyes of the last three days. To find someone after all this time then having to leave. Why did life have to be so cruel? At her apartment she unpacked, finding a picture of Taker. She propped it against her table lamp. It would always be her only link to her cruise, her run in with Taker, their last days together, and their night of love. She gently touched his face, tears in her eyes.
"I do love you, Taker. Please don't forget me."
When Katie returned to work the next day everyone was glad to see her back. They asked how she enjoyed her time off, etc. She would just smile and say it was relaxing, nothing more.
A couple of her co-workers, who were close to her, knew there had to be something more than what she was saying. Sue and Beth had known Katie too long to not feel there was something she was not telling. At lunch they went to a small restaurant across the street.
"Okay, what really happened?" Beth asked.
"Just like I told everyone. I had a relaxing cruise, nothing more."
"Just who do you think you're kidding. This is Sue and Beth, remember, your best friends for too many years. What really happened?"
"I don't want to talk about it now. Maybe later."
"You met somebody, didn't you?" There was a slight pause.
"Uh Huh. You did meet somebody. You want to tell us how and who you met?"
Katie told them no she didn't want to tell them. It was best not to talk about it. The girls knew better than to keep pressing for information. They knew Katie could get stubborn and never say a word to them at all.
When she got home that night, she looked at Taker's picture. She touched his face, remembering how he had held her.
"God, Taker, I miss you." She started to cry uncontrollably.

Chapter Three
Taker's schedule was hectic, sometimes doing up to 3 shows a week. They went to Phoenix, Albuquerque, Austin, St. Louis, Detroit, Kansas City. It was the same. There was no one there that looked like the picture. Whenever possible, Kane would help him. Taker was grateful for his help. Even their contacts knew of no one that looked like her.
Katie found herself keeping up with his matches, happy when he won and sad when he lost, even though she was sure that was the way it was supposed to be.
She would go to bed at night, his picture the last thing she would see before turning out the light. But as usual, she would work a 10-12 hour day and be exhausted when she came home. On those nights, she would fall into bed, too tired to undress. But first thing in the morning she made sure to touch his photo. She wondered at times if he ever thought of her or was he with someone else.
Taker looked at her picture every night before sleeping, hoping that the next city would find his search at an end. It would take a miracle after searching for six months, and no clue of any kind. He too wondered at times if she would remember their time together or was she with someone else.
The owner of the WWF was in New York going over legal papers to open his new restaurant. It was to be located in the heart of Broadway. The grand opening would be in three months. All the wrestlers would be there as well as specially invited guests. As it happened, Katie's firm was handling all the paperwork.
Sue and Beth were legal secretaries and doing the typing. They liked wrestling and were excited about the restaurant. They didn't tell Katie as they knew she didn't like wrestling.
As time drew near for the grand opening, the girls were given special invitations by their boss and were told they could bring a guest. They knew of one person they were taking - Katie. They felt it was time for her to get out of her rut and have a night out.

Chapter Four
The grand opening was for a Monday night before a special edition of RAW. The girls told Katie to dress up, they were going out to a brand new restaurant that was opening up. They had invitations to go and she was to be their guest. She was going to decline but felt she had nothing to lose.
She decided to wear the gown she had worn on the cruise when she first met Taker. Ever since the cruise she had kept the dress in the closet, not wanting to wear it again, keeping it as a reminder. She took off work early and took a little extra time getting ready. The girls came by at six, the opening would be at seven.
The wrestlers were told to dress in their ring attire as they would be signing autographs. Taker was slow at getting ready. He was almost ready to give up. All this time and no sign of her anywhere. He was beginning to think Katie had been an apparition.
"Taker, you've looked this long. You can't give up now. I know I was unsure myself, but there's still a chance," Kane said, trying to give encouragement to his friend.
The divorce papers had come through about 3 months ago. Taker was legally free to really pursue his search for Katie. Kane had breathed a sigh of relief that his now ex-wife hadn't found out. If she had, she would have tried to ruin Taker publicly, getting everything she could from him.
"I'm not sure any more, Kane. I know I said I wouldn't quit, that no matter what I would find her. If by some miracle I should find her, what if she doesn't want anything to do with me? What if she doesn't even remember? Worse, what if she is going with someone else?" Kane couldn't answer. That was a chance Taker would have to take.
They left in a long limo for the restaurant. He and Kane arrived amidst a crowd of fans. After waving at them, they entered the restaurant.
The girls arrived just after all the wrestlers had entered. They showed their invitation. Sue and Beth were in awe at how the restaurant was decorated. They looked at the pictures of the wrestlers that were on a special board near the main dining area. Katie was looking around. She hadn't been told this was where they were going. The girls were shown to a table in the main dining area. Katie was looking at some pictures on the wall. She saw one in particular - Taker. She touched it.
"I wish I could see you again. I miss you."
She went to join the girls at their table.

Chapter Five
Taker and Kane were coming into the main dining area, flash bulbs popping. Taker didn't feel like smiling. As his search had produced nothing so far, he was expecting another disappointment.
Sue and Beth were giggling as they entered, both girls ecstatic at seeing them. Katie had her back to the main entrance, wondering what the girls were giggling at.
"Have you ever seen such gorgeous hunks? I would love to get my hands on them," said Beth.
"Katie, you should see them. Even you couldn't resist them," remarked Sue.
Taker was looking around at the crowd. He happened to spy what looked like a familiar shape. Katie turned around, curious as to what the girls saw. Taker saw her face. Was this for real after all these months? Katie closed her eyes, thinking what she saw was unreal. She opened them. He was still there. Katie got up and walked over to him. They looked at each other, ignoring everyone around them.
Kane came over to say something to Taker, then he saw Katie. He cleared his throat, getting their attention. Taker turned. Kane knew they would want to get out of there.
"Better leave now while you can," he said with a grin.
"Thanks for not letting me quit."
They left out a side door and grabbed the first limo. He asked where she wanted to go. She said she wanted to ride around for a little bit. Taker put up the window to have some privacy. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her as if there was no tomorrow. Katie returned his kiss, her arms wound around his neck.
"All these months I looked for you. I didn't know where to find you. I almost gave up."
Katie looked at him.
"Don't you remember? I did tell you. Somebody didn't listen, did he?" She smiled and said in a soft voice, "stupid jock." Taker smiled and kissed her til she was limp.
They rode in the limo for an hour, getting reacquainted with each other. He asked would she like to go somewhere else. She said to her apartment. She gave him the address. He told the driver and within minutes they were there.
As soon as they were in, he kissed her again, his hands running up and down her back. Katie felt her zipper coming open and her dress fall to the floor. She undid his cape, letting it drop to the floor.
Taker carried her to the bed, easing her down gently. He removed his ring attire and laid beside her, his hand tracing every curve. He undid her bra, his fingers caressing her breasts, her tips coming to life as he kissed them. He removed her panties, feeling the heat between her thighs as his fingers massaged her core. Katie softly moaned, arching her hips for more.
She began running her hands over his body, stopping at his thighs. Her fingers tracing his growing desire, sending shivers through him. Taker moaned as he entered her. Katie wrapped her legs around him, moving her hips with him, feeling him all the way in her. She ran her hands over his back and buttocks, begging him not to stop. His breathing was becoming more ragged with every stroke. Taker could feel her body tense, and with one last thrust, he buried his face in her neck, crying her name. She held on, her body shaking.
He lay next to her, holding her close. Katie put her head on his shoulder and soon closed her eyes. He pulled the sheet over them and soon he was asleep.

Chapter Six
When morning came, Taker woke up, his arm around Katie. He kissed her forehead. She opened her eyes, her hand touching his cheek. Then she got up and went to the window, looking out over the street below. She didn't want him to see her cry as she knew he would be leaving, knowing this could possibly be the last time she saw him.
Taker came up behind her, encircling her waist with his strong arms. Katie leaned back against him, tears were beginning to stream down her face. He felt one of the tears as it dropped on his arm.
"Why are you crying?"
"Because you'll be leaving. That we probably won't see each other ever."
"What makes you think that?" he asked as he turned her around. "Katie, I didn't spend all these months searching for you everywhere to spend just one night with you and then leave and never see you again. When you left that note on my pillow, you said that you loved me. I keep that note with me in my bag. That is what kept me going all these months. I love you, Katie. I searched for you because I want you. I want us to be together."
Katie leaned her head against his chest. "Are you asking me to go with you?"
"Yes, I want you to go with me. To leave New York and everything that's here."
"We really don't know each other very well."
"I know enough. I have two more days here in New York, then we go on the road. When I go, you go with me."
Katie didn't know what to say. She had always been level-headed, never doing anything irrational. Then she met Taker. He had awaken feelings in her that she never knew she had in the short time they were together on the boat. For once it was time for her to do something crazy and irrational, and what better way to do it than with someone you love, and she did love him. Katie nodded her head.
For the next two days, Katie packed what she would need and gave notice to the company that she was leaving. Sue and Beth couldn't believe that Katie would do something like this, but they wished her the best.
As Taker boarded the plane to the next show, Katie was with him, ready to begin a new adventure.
